Printable model of Pascal's Sautoir
Description
There are only very few features left of the famous Pascaline designed in 1642. Here is the reproduction of one of the key elements in of the history of mechanical counting. This little object revolutionized the history of mechanical counting. The so-called Sautoir is the centerpiece of the Pascaline's carry mechanism. When it is time to propagate a carry, the Sautoir, under the sole influence of gravity, is thrown toward the next wheel without any contact between the wheels.
